I will dominate 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Former two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the novice remains one of the sport's largest financial successes, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary face-off, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really happening.
